RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): Security forces have foiled an infiltration bid by the Fitna-ul-Khawarij terrorist on the Pak-Afghan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bajaur district, killing four terrorists.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Khawarijs attempted to infiltrate the Pak-Afghan border on the night between October 29 and 30.

The security forces foiled the terrorists’ movement, and during this operation, four terrorists were killed, including the high-value Khawarij commander, Amjad alias Muzahim.

According to the ISPR, the slain Khawarij Amjad was considered the deputy of Khawarij commander Noor Wali Mehsud and the head of the Rehbari Shura of Indian proxy Fitna al-Khwarij.

The ISPR said that Amjad was highly wanted by the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) and the government had fixed a head money of Rs5 million on him, as he remained actively involved in perpetuating numerous terrorist activities inside Pakistan while residing in Afghanistan.

“Sanitisation operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored Kharji found in the area as a relentless counterterrorism campaign under vision Azm-e-Istehkam by security forces and LEAs will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the ISPR statement read.

The military’s media wing further said that the TTP leadership, while residing in Afghanistan, is orchestrating infiltration attempts into Pakistan, primarily to project an impression of domestic presence and to raise the diminishing morale of “their khwarij in Bajaur and Mohmand because of effective operations of security forces”.

“It is once again reiterated that the interim Afghan government must take concrete measures to ensure that Afghan soil is not used by kharji proxies to perpetrate terrorism against Pakistan. It also validates our stance that Afghan soil is continuously being used as a safe haven by khwarij belonging to Fitna al Khwarij against Pakistan,” the ISPR said.

“The security forces remain resolute and unwavering in their commitment to defend the nation’s frontiers,” the statement concluded.

Additionally, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for the killing of four terrorists, including a highly wanted kharji leader, during a security operation in Bajaur district.

The Prime Minister said that the security forces, with their professional skills, brought down the most wanted kharji commander, Amjad, and thwarted the evil intentions of the enemies of Pakistan’s integrity.

He added that the elements that harm the lives and property of innocent citizens will continue to be defeated in the same way, and the government is determined to completely eradicate terrorism from the country.
