ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen issued a sarcastic apology to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after receiving a legal notice over his remarks criticising the PSL management.

In a video statement posted on his official Instagram account, Tareen mockingly apologised for speaking out about the PSL’s management and operations, saying he was sorry for having an opinion and for expecting professionalism.

In his video, Tareen dramatically tore the copy of the PCB’s legal notice.

He added that the focus should be on improving the league’s structure and transparency rather than silencing the voices of stakeholders.

Ali Tareen said that he will not remain silent on the threats given in the legal notice. If you think that I will remain silent on the threats, then this is your misunderstanding.

Ali Tareen said in the video message that he loves PSL and this league belongs to the whole of Pakistan.

He is ready to sit down to solve the problems, but to date no one has contacted him. No one has called or emailed to know about my problems.

It should be remembered that the PCB had issued a notice to the franchise, Multan Sultans, for violating the agreement and running a campaign to damage the reputation of the PSL.

According to sources, the franchise was issued a notice for violating the clauses of the 10-year agreement.

If the franchise does not respond satisfactorily to the notice, the agreement will be canceled, and the franchise owners will also face being blacklisted.

Sources say that the franchise had started running the campaign even before PSL 10, the franchise owner ran a campaign to damage the reputation of the league in social media interviews and podcasts.

According to sources, the aim of the campaign was to devalue the league before the valuation, which was aimed at reducing the valuation for the next 10 years.
