BHIMBER (Kashmir English): The wild boar meat is being illegally sold in Bhimber, Wildlife Department sources warned, saying that a probe is underway to arrest the accused.
According to details, a team from the Wildlife Department conducted an operation over the past two days and recovered nets and other hunting equipment set up in the nearby forest areas.
However, the accused managed to flee from the scene before they could be apprehended.
Initial investigations have revealed that wild boars were being trapped and their meat sold in parts of Bhimber and surrounding areas.
Officials have termed the situation highly dangerous and alarming, citing serious public health and environmental concerns.
The Wildlife Department’s report has been submitted to higher authorities, while residents have demanded immediate arrests of those involved and a thorough probe to determine where and how the wild boar meat was being distributed and sold.
