MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): In an unprecedented incident, the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) miscreants opened an unprovoked firing, killing AJK police personnel in Dhirkot on Wednesday.
According to the sources, the violent clashes resulted in the martyrdom of three police constables and left nine other cops injured.
The martyred personnel are identified as Tahir Rafi, from Muzaffarabad, Khurshid, and Jamil, both from Bagh.
The JAAC protestors also opened indiscriminate fire on police in Chamyati and Dadyal areas, sources said.
As per details, one civilian died and several others were also injured in the firing.
The attack has sparked widespread condemnation, with law enforcement agencies vowing to take strict legal action against the armed rioters.
The families of the martyred and injured personnel have demanded justice and severe punishments for the perpetrators.
Security sources said that law enforcement agencies are cracking down on armed rioters involved in the attack. The government has assured that no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands.
