ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Federal Secretary IT and Telecom Zarar Hashim has said that the Pakistan internet slowdown repair may take another 4 to 5 weeks.
The internet restoration will be done by restoring the two affected submarine cables coming to Pakistan from Yemen.
In the meeting of the standing committee, member Sadiq Ali Memon expressed concern over the slow speed of the internet and asked why there are three new cables coming, so why are there internet problems?
Zarar Hashim explained that the situation is complicated due to the current situation in Yemen. Several cables have been cut on the coast of Yemen, including two cables coming to Pakistan.
He said that it may take another four to five weeks to repair the affected cables; however, the companies have shifted the bandwidth to alternative routes so that the internet service is not affected.
