BAGH (Kashmir English): In a disturbing incident, the police have arrested a suspect in an alleged gang-rape case in the Bagh district of Azad Kashmir, police said on Friday.

According to the details, the father of a rape victim, an 18-year-old girl, filed a complaint at the City Police Station Bagh on September 4.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the complainant reported that on the evening of September 3, my daughter reportedly went missing from home, and he initially thought she had gone to work at a beauty parlor.

However, she was found at a shop in Qadirabad the next morning, where she informed her father and the police that she had been kidnapped by two boys from Sahlian, who took her to an empty house and allegedly gang-raped her throughout the night.

Police sources said that one of the suspects has been detained, while they are actively searching for the other suspect.

The authorities are working to ensure that both perpetrators are brought to justice soon, a police official said.

Earlier in June, a similar case unfolded in Kotli, where police arrested a suspect for allegedly raping a minor child in Kotli district.

SHO Police Station Sarsawa, Shehzad Ahmed, along with his team, arrested Afraz, a resident of Piran Sayah, and remanded him in custody for sexually assaulting a minor child.

Police have said that the investigation has been initiated against the accused under section 337 A (1) of the Azad Penal Code.
