MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): A delegation of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir (APHC-AJK) met with leaders of the Central Bar Association Muzaffarabad and invited them to May 9 ‘Bunyan-un-Marsoos’ rally.
They also apprised leaders of the Bar of the grim situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir during a meeting on Wednesday.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC-AJK delegation, comprising Raja Khadim Hussain, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, and Abdul Majeed Mir, met with Central Bar Association Muzaffarabad President Advocate Raja Zaigham Iftikhar, Secretary General Mir Murtaza, and other members of the bar at the association’s office.
The delegation invited them to participate in the ‘Bunyan-un-Marsoos’ rally scheduled to be held in Muzaffarabad on May 9.
The Hurriyat leaders highlighted the prevailing situation in IIOJK, including the challenges faced by the Kashmiri people, ongoing human rights violations, and various dimensions of political repression.
They paid rich tribute to legal fraternity’s historic and principled role, noting that lawyers have consistently stood for truth, justice, and the rights of the oppressed.
Bunyan-un-Marsoos rally
They formally invited the bar members to join the rally, which will proceed from Shaheed Burhan Wani Chowk to Garhi Pan Chowk in Muzaffarabad on May 9.
The leaders expressed the resolve that the rally would serve as a tribute to the professionalism, courage, and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the defence of the country.
The office-bearers of the Central Bar Association thanked the Hurriyat delegation and assured their full participation in the rally.
The Hurriyat leaders also held separate meetings with the Secretary Health and the Secretary Elementary and Secondary Education, inviting healthcare professionals and students of educational institutions to take part in the rally of national importance.
The APHC-AJK delegation further met President of the Pensioners Association, Raja Mumtaz, who welcomed the invitation and assured full cooperation and participation in the rally.
