ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a pleasant and constructive telephone conversation in which both leaders agreed to consider the establishment of regular diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Armenia.

In his post on X on Friday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar said that I had a pleasant telephone conversation with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, we agreed to consider the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Armenia.

On the other hand, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan also said in a statement that he had an important conversation with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in which discussions were held on establishing relations under the vision of mutual cooperation on bilateral and multilateral platforms.

It should be noted that there are no formal diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Armenia yet.

Pakistan has been supporting Azerbaijan and its relationship with Armenia in the region is mostly seen in a geopolitical context.

Earlier this month, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia brokered by US President Donald Trump.

He said that Pakistan has always supported Azerbaijan and stands with it at this historic moment.
