NEELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): The difficulties of residents of Azad Jammu and Kashmir have been increasing day by day as the bad weather conditions, flash floods persist in the region.

The Kutton main bridge over the Jagran stream in Neelum Valley washed away in the flash flood caused by a cloudburst on August 14, leaving a large population of two union councils stranded and raising fears of food shortages.

The residents of the area, with the help of District Councilor Imran Qureshi, have constructed a temporary wooden bridge, which is being used only for pedestrians, but vehicular traffic is completely blocked.

Due to this, business activities have come to a standstill, and people are facing severe difficulties due to the suspension of transportation.

The local body and the district administration have taken immediate steps to provide temporary relief to the people, but due to the lack of a permanent bridge, food shortages are increasing in the area.

The locals have strongly demanded that the government immediately restore the Kattan bridge and repair about two kilometers of the road, which is in bad condition, so that a famine-like situation can be avoided in the area.
