ISLAMABAD: The main ceremony of Independence Day and Marka-e-Haq is underway at the Jinnah Sports Stadium in Islamabad, with the special attendance of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, and Field Marshal Asim Munir.
A large number of Pakistani as well as foreign dignitaries are also attending the ceremony.
During the ceremony, a band of the Army’s School of Music, consisting of all three armed forces, presented a magnificent march past, which was greatly appreciated by the participants.
The ceremony also featured a military parade and fly-past, special national and cultural performances.
All routes leading to the venue for the ceremony have been illuminated and decorated with banners.
The event is part of the Independence Day celebrations, showcasing the country’s military strength, rich heritage, and unity, with dignitaries and citizens expected to witness the grand display.
In celebration of the victory in Marka-e-Haq, the Prime Minister will also unveil the Marka-e-Haq Monument during the event.
Celebrations are in full swing across the country, with streets, neighbourhoods, and cities adorned in the green and white of the national flag.
