PMDC increases MDCAT 2025 Fee, check latest fee rates inside

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has raised the registration fee of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) by 80% in the last two years, putting an extra economic burden on future medical students and their families.

In 2023, the  MDCAT 2025 fee was Rs5,000, which increased to Rs7,000 in 2024. This year, the fee has been increased to Rs 9,000. Going by last year’s nationwide participation of 32,977 candidates, PMDC is estimated to earn close to Rs2.96 billion in revenue in 2025.

As per PMDC, the MDCAT test will be held concurrently in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on Sunday, October 5, 2025.

Universities Administering the Test

The test will be conducted by five universities in Pakistan:

Punjab: University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore
Sindh: Sukkur IBA University
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar
Balochistan: Bolan Medical University, Quetta
Federal Capital, AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan & Overseas Pakistanis (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia): Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU), Islamabad

Registration Schedule & MDCAT 2025 Fee

Online registration will start from August 8, 2025, and end on August 25, 2025. The last date of late registration is September 1, 2025.

  • In Pakistan MDCAT fee 2025 is Rs9,000 (normal fee), Rs13,000 (late fee)
  • In International Centres (Riyadh), the MDCAT FEE 2025 is Rs45,000 (normal fee), Rs55,000 (late fee)
    All fees are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Test Centres & Guidelines

MDCAT will be conducted in several cities, such as Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Rawalakot, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Multan, Faisalabad, Swat, Abbottabad, Gilgit, and Riyadh.

Candidates will have to choose a centre based on their domicile, as the changes will not be entertained after the selection.

Exam Format

The test will be in English and will have 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with no negative marking. Questions will include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and Logical Reasoning, with difficulty levels divided as:

  • 15% easy
  • 70% moderate
  • 15% difficult
