NEELUM (Kashmir English): The body of a youth, who drowned in the Neelum River last month in Neelum Valley, has been recovered from Indian occupied Kashmir.
The 22-year-old Shahzad Manzoor was swept away in the river at Shaikh Bela area of the valley on July 3.
As per details, the Indian authorities returned the body today from the Chalana crossing point and handed it over to the district administration in the presence of the Pakistan Army.
Earlier this week, a man, identified as Mudasir Siddique, was swept away while bathing in the Neelum River at Sharda Kharigam.
A special team of the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), Muzaffarabad, along with other rescue institutions, launched a search operation to recover the dead body of a young man.
Earlier, the police, the local rescue unit, Boating Club Sharda, local people/local volunteers, and the Pakistan Army participated in the recovery operation but failed to discover the victim’s body.
