KARACHI (Kashmir English): In a major boost for digital cricket fans in Pakistan, Tamasha has secured exclusive digital streaming rights for the Asia Cup tournaments till 2027. The announcement confirms that cricket lovers in Pakistan will be able to watch all Asia Cup matches live via the Tamasha app and website over the next two editions.

The landmark deal includes the Men’s Asia Cup 2025 and 2027 tournaments, as well as the Men’s and Women’s Under-19 and Emerging Teams tournaments – more than 150 match days in total, marking a major milestone in Pakistan’s digital sports broadcasting landscape.

Tamasha, Pakistan’s home-grown OTT platform powered by Jazz, continues to expand its sports content offerings with this new deal. While Sony India has acquired the television broadcasting rights for the Asia Cup from 2024 to 2031, Tamasha has clinched the digital rights for streaming in Pakistan.

Commenting on the development, Aamer Ejaz, President Digital at Jazz, said: “This exclusive acquisition reflects Tamasha’s growing stature as the go-to digital platform for premium sports content in Pakistan. We’re excited to bring millions of fans closer to the action by delivering a seamless and high-quality viewing experience for one of the region’s most exciting cricket tournaments.”

This deal builds on Tamasha’s growing portfolio of top-tier cricket content. The platform already holds digital rights for major ICC tournaments until the end of 2025, including the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and ICC Champions Trophy 2025. It also streams all Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) bilateral series online.

Industry experts say this move puts Tamasha in a leading position among digital platforms in Pakistan, especially as more viewers shift to online streaming over cable TV. With cricket being the most-watched sport in the country, the exclusive Asia Cup rights are expected to boost the platform’s viewership numbers and user base significantly.

Tamasha officials have not yet announced whether any subscription plans will be revised ahead of the tournaments, but more details are expected closer to the event dates.
