US ties not a substitute for China friendship, says Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar

NEW YORK (Kashmir English): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar says Pakistan wants strong relations with the US, but these relations should not be seen in the context of friendship with China.

Addressing the Pakistani community in New York, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that due to the government’s efforts, the economy has improved significantly. We saved the country from default.

He added that the government improved economic indicators in a period of 3 years. There has been a significant improvement in GDP growth. Foreign exchange reserves are continuously increasing.

He said that economic stability has come to the country. The inflation rate has decreased significantly.

All international financial institutions recognize Pakistan’s economic improvement. Our goal is to include Pakistan in the G20.

He added that the no-confidence motion was a difficult decision that we took for the sake of the country. If the PTI government had remained for another 6 months, the country would have defaulted. We have buried the threat of default.

Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan is very active at the diplomatic level at this time. Pakistan was almost isolated at the diplomatic level; no one used to come to us or invite us, but today we are active all over the world.

He said that after almost 9 years, the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and the United States have met. In the meeting, detailed discussions were held on bilateral issues.

He told Foreign Secretary Marco Rubio that Pakistan wants strong relations with the United States, but these relations should not be seen in the context of the Pak-China partnership.

The Foreign Minister said that he is determined to completely eradicate the scourge of terrorism from the country. During his visit to Afghanistan, he discussed all issues and told Afghanistan not to let its soil be used against Pakistan.

We are the well-wishers of Afghanistan and want its development and prosperity.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Pakistan is also achieving successes at the diplomatic level. Pakistan wants a peaceful resolution of conflicts in the world.

He said that Pakistan believes in a peace-loving country and peaceful coexistence, and we believe in respecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of everyone.

The Foreign Minister said that while talking about the war against India, Ishaq Dar said that we gave a befitting reply to Indian aggression, Pakistan destroyed India’s pride by shooting down Rafale aircraft.

He said that we also responded to the steps taken by India under the guise of the Pahalgam incident, we closed our airspace to India on the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif offered India an international investigation into the Pahalgam incident.

He said that we have exposed Indian propaganda to the world, and India’s panic has not ended yet.
