TASHKENT (Kashmir English): Pakistan has claimed back-to-back wins after thrashing Uzbekistan 3-0 in the FIVB Boys’ U-19 Volleyball World Championship in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on Friday.
Green Shirts take down the host nation with a commanding performance in the Pool A match, winning all three sets straight with a scoreline of 25-23, 25-18, and 25-21.
Pakistan has been participating in the 24-nation U-19 global championship for the very first time.
Captain Muhammad Yahya led by example, delivering an exceptional performance with 24 points, including 21 from attacks. Saud claimed 10 points, while Muhtad Ali Shah and Ajmal Janid played a crucial role in the team’s win with 9 points each.
Yahya-led team grabbed 45 points through attacks, 12 through blocks, 2 through serve, and 16 through opponent error.
Pakistan has continued the winning momentum, marking the team’s second successive victory.
Earlier on Thursday, Pakistan defeated Belgium 3-0 with the scores of 25-19, 25-17, and 25-22. Pakistan grabbed 32 through attacks, 11 through blocking, and two points through ace services.
The Men in Green are scheduled to take on Turkiye in their next encounter on Saturday, July 26.
