MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Kashmir Police has strongly denied rumors of a strike planned for July 21, calling a viral social media post circulating under the name “Jamiat Police Azad Kashmir” completely fake and baseless.
According to the Police spokesperson, the post falsely claimed that police employees would stage a strike due to the non-implementation of a charter of demands. The department has clarified that it has no connection with such messages and reaffirmed that the Police is a disciplined force where all officers and staff are fully committed to their duties.
The Azad Kashmir police spokesperson emphasized that any form of delay, negligence, or irresponsibility in performing official duties falls under misconduct. There is a proper system in place through which employees can present their demands and concerns to senior officials. These internal channels are to be followed strictly, and any deviation will not be tolerated.
The department further stated that the welfare of personnel is the sole responsibility of the Police leadership, which is actively fulfilling this role. It was highlighted that constables and head constables in Azad Kashmir Police currently receive better salaries than many others in similar roles.
Additionally, formal requests have been sent to the Azad Kashmir government regarding the removal of discrepancies in allowances compared to other departments. These proposals are under consideration at the relevant forums.
Legal action has already been initiated against those responsible for spreading fake news on social media to incite unrest among the employees. The department has warned that if any employee is found involved in this campaign, strict disciplinary measures under E&D Rules will be taken.
The Azad Kashmir Police also reminded the public and its personnel that it does not need the support of any political or non-political group for its welfare and operations. The force stands united and committed to maintaining law and order in the region.
