MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Shia community across Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) will commemorate the death of Hazrat Imam Husain (RA) on Ashura, the 10th day of Muharram today (Sunday).
In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, all is set to commemorate the sanctified day of the global Islamic history and a icon of supreme sacrifices rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain and his companions for the cause of Islam, similar to rest of the world, with due religious solemnity and reverence.
The day marks an unwavering resolve to fight against all types of tyrannical forces and for the sake of rightness and justice besides to accomplish the cherished mission to take to the lofty level – the glory of Islam, under all circumstances.
The sacred day of exceptional significance will dawn with special prayers by the faithful at all mosques and Imambargahs with Namaz-e-Fajr in all 10 districts of Azad Jammu Kashmir.
Processions of Alam and Zul’jinnah will be taken out from Imambargahs which, after passing through the already-designated traditional routes, will culminate at fixed points.
A number of social, political and religious organizations as well as individuals have made adequate arrangements to set up stalls of juices and sweet water on the processions routes to facilitate the faithful.
Re-calling the martyrdom of Hazarat Imam Hussain (AS), Ulema and Zakireen during the course of the procession will deliver special speeches highlighting the great essence of the day.
The event of Karbala inspires Muslims to uphold the glory of Islam coupled with the renewed pledge and resolve that Muslims should not hesitate to render any sacrifice for the lofty ideals of Islam.
Security was beefed up across AJK on the eve of Muharram ul Haraam to maintain full sectarian harmony, and brotherhood.
In the liberated territory of Azad Jammu and Kashmir state, law enforcement authorities have beefed up security to maintain complete peace and order and traditional religious and sectarian harmony.
With the induction of extra police contingents at the vulnerable points, the places of worship including the Imam Bargahs have been in high security alert to maintain peace and tranquility with prime focus to frustrate any untoward incident in the area during religious gatherings.
It may be added that complete sectarian harmony prevails across AJK following the full mutual harmony among all sects and brotherhood among the Muslims belonging to all schools of thought besides the minority communities.
Foolproof security on Ashura
The AJK administration including the State Police authorities have given final touches to the foolproof security arrangements across AJK.
The authorities have reportedly decided to put the police on high alert at all the entry and exit points leading to the AJK districts to discourage the entry of any unscrupulous and anti-social element.
Besides Divisional Commissioners of all three divisions of Mirpur, Muzaffarabad and Poonch, Deputy Commissioners of all 10 districts of AJK as well as the concerned divisional and district police chiefs and senior officials of other law enforcement agencies have devised the foolproof security arrangements in this connection.
Additional police force is also proposed to be deputed all over AJK to maintain peace and tranquility.
