RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): In a dramatic turn of events, doctors at CMH Rawalakot have resigned and announced a boycott from tonight following the arrest of their colleagues.
Earlier today, DMS hospital and two other lady doctors were arrested in connection with the Fiza Khursheed case.
The arrests came after the District and Sessions Court rejected the bail applications of the accused, Dr. Amna Nawaz, Amrzish Liaquat, and Nurse Aniqa.
A case was registered against them after a 17-year-old girl lost her life due to alleged negligence and wrong treatment by doctors at CMH Rawalakot.
Following the arrest, the doctors at the hospital have expressed their solidarity with their arrested colleagues and have decided to resign en masse.
The doctors have announced that they will not provide any services in the hospital after 12 midnight tonight.
An emergency Zoom meeting of the Central Joint Action Committee of Doctors has been called to discuss the situation. The doctors have demanded justice for their colleagues and protested against what they perceive as unfair treatment.
The resignation of doctors is likely to severely impact healthcare services at CMH Rawalakot, leaving patients in a precarious situation.
