PALLANDRI (Kashmir English): A heart-wrenching incident has shaken the community, where a mentally disabled child was allegedly forced to drink poison in the presence of his mother in Baral area of Pallandri, Azad Kashmir.
The child, identified as Bilal, died shortly after being taken to the hospital. A case has been registered and the accused has been arrested, police said.
A disturbing video of the incident went viral on social media, showing a 14-year-old child sitting on a chair and being encouraged to drink the poison by his sister.
At the outset of the video, the girl [allegedly the boy’s sister] talks to him in Hindko, saying, “You are eating the poison yourself, no one told you, if you eat, you will die.”
In a video, the girl can be heard telling her mother that his brother is taking rat-killing pills. Later, the girl tells her mother that she has taken poison.
During the video, the girl also said to call everyone and tell them what happened, which shows that the boy was killed with a proper plan and forced to take poison.
From the sister’s words, it was felt that she was trained to fabricate a false story. The mother’s silent presence and insensitivity during the making of the video have further inflamed public anger and resentment.
The child’s father, Muhammad Saeed, has filed an FIR against his wife at Pallandri police station, accusing her of killing their son with the help of others.
According to the victim’s father’s statement, he had gone to his brother’s house on May 18 and was informed that his son Bilal had taken something poisonous.
According to Bilal’s father, when he reached the District Hospital Pallandri, his son was dead, whose body he took home and buried.
According to Muhammad Saeed, he later came to know that his wife, Farzana Kausar, had killed her son by giving him a poisonous substance with the help of other people.
The police have arrested the accused, including the child’s mother, and have launched an investigation into the incident.
