MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) leader Shaukat Nawaz Mir has urged the government to lead the boycott of Israeli products.
He emphasized that the boycott of Israeli products should be a government-led initiative, with the public uniting to pressure the government to take decisive action.
Mir stated that while individuals have the right to boycott products, forcing businesses associated with multinational companies to stop operations could lead to chaos and unemployment.
Mir stated that the government should take the lead in banning Zionist products, rather than relying on individual actions.
“The Central Traders’ Association has already suggested that the government should provide alternative employment opportunities for those affected by the boycott,” he said.
Shaukat Mir warned that closing businesses without a plan could lead to millions of workers becoming unemployed, causing economic hardship for local investors.
He appealed to the public to continue boycotts on an individual basis, avoiding actions that could harm fellow citizens, cause unemployment, or damage property.
He emphasized the importance of avoiding mutual acrimony and promoting a unified approach to the boycott.
