Addressing the press conference, he said unless the issue is resolved according to United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions and the will of Kashmiri people, the region will not see lasting peace.
“The problem is that India continues to tag this external problem as an internal issue. It’s an external problem involving Pakistan, India and the people of Kashmir. This conflict has once again put Kashmir as a flashpoint and needs to be resolved,” Lt Gen Chaudhry said.
He further said that Kashmir is an internationally recognised dispute and India is trying to dub it as an internal issue by changing demography [and] the legal status of the region in violation of UNSC resolutions and international commitments India has made.
“You are seeing what’s happening after Pahalgam,” DG ISPR posed a question adding, “People’s homes are being demolished, people are being taken into custody in the thousands.
Addressing India indirectly, the DG ISPR said, “It’s an international issue, talk it out and find a solution which satisfies the will of the people.”
Pakistan Armed Forces have delivered their promise to the nation: DG ISPR
DG ISPR has said in his latest press conference that the armed forces have successfully delivered their promise to the nation.
Speaking at the press briefing, DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said the purpose of the media talk was to inform the nation about the execution and outcome of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, a military response to Indian aggression that began on the night of May 6 and 7, leading to the tragic loss of civilian lives, including women and children.
He thanked the political parties for standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the Pakistan Army during the rough times.
During the press conference, the Director General of ISPR praised the people of Pakistan for their unwavering support during challenging times. He said the armed forces deeply valued the nation’s courage, unity, and prayers, which acted as a powerful source of strength.
He especially highlighted the vital role played by Pakistan’s youth, referring to them as “frontline cyber warriors” who actively defended the country’s narrative in the digital space.
The military also extended thanks to the Pakistani media for its strong stand against India’s propaganda and efforts to spread misinformation.
In addition, the armed forces expressed sincere gratitude to the political leadership across all parties, regardless of affiliation, for showing unity and consistent support for the military and the defence of Pakistan’s sovereignty.
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry further stated that the Pakistan armed forces’ response to Indian aggression was a “textbook example” of joint coordination among the army, navy, and air force, showcasing their high level of operational skill.
He explained that Pakistan’s response was made possible through real-time intelligence, advanced network-centric warfare systems, and smooth coordination across multiple domains: air, land, sea, and cyberspace.
The DG ISPR said this joint effort enabled precise targeting, powerful firepower, and fast-paced operations.
He added that the Pakistan Army used long-range, precision-guided missiles; Fateh-1 and Fateh-2, while the Pakistan Air Force deployed advanced long-range and precision-guided weapons. Long-range artillery units also played a key role in the overall strike capability.
During the media briefing, DG ISPR also stated that a total of 26 military targets were struck, including locations used to launch attacks on Pakistani civilians and those involved in supporting terrorism within Pakistan.
He said that under Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, Pakistan’s military response focused on a range of high-value targets in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and mainland India.
Key targets included Indian Air Force and aviation bases located in Suratgarh, Sirsa, Poonch, Naliya, Adampur, Bhatinda, Barnala, Halwara, Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Udhampur, Mamoon, Ambala, and Pathankot, all of which suffered significant damage.
Other important sites hit were BrahMos missile storage facilities in Fayaz and Nagrota, which had earlier been linked to missile attacks on Pakistan. The Pakistan Air Force also successfully neutralised S-400 missile systems positioned at Adampur and Poonch.
Military supply and support locations, such as the Field Supply Depot in Uri and a radar installation in Poonch, were also targeted.
DG ISPR further noted that command and control centres, the 10th Brigade and 80 Brigade located at KG Top and Nowshera, were destroyed. These were directly involved in planning attacks that resulted in the deaths of Pakistani children.
Additionally, intelligence fusion centres and operational units in Rajouri and Nowshera, which were supporting and training proxy groups involved in terrorism inside Pakistan, were also eliminated. He also denied having any Indian pilot in custody.
He added that several military positions along the Line of Control (LoC), responsible for unprovoked shelling on Azad Jammu and Kashmir, were hit with precision, causing heavy damage. Following the strikes, some of the affected Indian units reportedly raised white flags and appealed for restraint.
Responding to a question during the press conference, DG ISPR refuted the Indian military’s claims that Pakistan requested a ceasefire.
“Let me put it on record that Pakistan never requested for a ceasefire,” he said.

“Government of Pakistan, its armed forces and security forces are daily tightening the noose around India-sponsored terrorism. One of the objectives is to distract and divert the security agencies and armed forces from these counter-terrorist operations,” he added.

He criticised India for making repeated allegations without any evidence, urging that “this pattern of baseless accusations must come to an end.” Such unfounded claims, he warned, only serve to heighten regional tensions.
The DG ISPR revealed that Pakistan had proposed an independent and impartial investigation into the recent incidents, but India rejected the offer. “We suggested a fair and neutral probe, but India refused,” he said.

’31 civilians martyred so far’
At least 31 civilians were martyred and 57 injured as India targets six locations inside Pakistan on the night of May 6 and 7, DG ISPR Lt Gen Sharif Chaudhry said in a recent press conference on late Wednesday.
He said a major reason for the increase in casualties was India’s continued unprovoked firing on the Line of Control and ceasefire violations.
Furthermore, the military’s spokesperson condemned India’s recent strikes, terming it a “cowardly attack” that targeted innocent civilians under the cover of darkness. “Our enemy is so cowardly that instead of confronting our military forces head-on, it attacks unarmed civilians and populated areas in the darkness.”
He added that any condemnation of India’s strikes of May 6 and 7 is not enough. “It exposed India’s disgusting face, showing that our enemy is so weak and scared that, like cowards, it targets civilians and population centres in the darkness of night instead of fighting the equivalent army in front of it.”
He added that such actions highlight India’s desperation and its shift from supporting proxy elements to direct acts of aggression. “When we made life difficult for terrorist proxies, India resorted to using its own military to carry out acts of terror,” he said.
Criticising the overnight attacks, the DG ISPR has questioned which terrorists were killed by targeting civilians and population centres.
“Showing visuals of those impacted by the attacks, including children, the DG ISPR questioned, “Are these the terrorists whom India targeted on the night of May 6 and 7? You can expect this from India.”
“Targeting innocent citizens and children — if that’s not terrorism, then what is?” he added.

Last night, India fired missiles from its airspace at at least six areas in Pakistan, including Bahawalpur, Muzaffarabad, Muridke, and Kotli.
Among the tragic incidents was a missile strike on the Masjid, where 13 people were martyred, including two young girls aged two and three, seven women, and four men.
Addressing the media, DG ISPR said that cowardly India launched air strikes from the air at three places, including Subhanullah mosque in Bahawalpur’s Ahmedpur Sharqia in South Punjab, and Kotli and Muzaffarabad in Azad Kashmir.

From midnight until the time of the press conference, five more civilians, including a five-year-old child, were martyred in continued firing.
DG ISPR highlighted that targeting mosques and worship sites reveals the extremist ideology growing under the Modi government, one that openly endangers minorities and violates international norms.
7-year-old Irtaza Abbass, son of Lt. Col. Zaheer, was also martyred in Indian shelling on the night of May 6–7, security sources said.
Officials called it an unprovoked and cowardly attack targeting civilians.
DG ISPR reported that four Pakistan Army personnel were injured in the drone attack in Lahore, and one civilian lost their life in Miano, Sindh.
India targets Pakistan
Speaking to a TV channel at around 1:06 am, DG ISPR said that some time ago from now, the cowardly enemy India launched air strikes from the air at three places, including Subhanullah mosque in Bahawalpur’s Ahmedpur Sharqia in South Punjab, and Kotli and Muzaffarabad in Azad Kashmir.
“All of our air force jets are airborne. This cowardly and shameful attack was carried out from within India’s airspace. They were never allowed to come and intrude into the Pakistan airspace.”
“Let me say it unequivocally… Pakistan will respond to this at a time and place of its own choosing. This heinous provocation will not go unanswered.”
DG ISPR concluded the press conference with slogans of Pakistan Zindabad, he also added, “Finally, I want to make it clear that Pakistan only retaliated in self-defence, India attacked our sovereignty and killed our citizens. We have the right to respond at the place and time of our own choice.”
