183 Pakistani students evacuated safely from Iran through Taftan

QUETTA (Kashmir English): The Government of Pakistan and the Armed Forces have safely evacuated hundreds of Pakistani students and nationals from Iran through Taftan border crossing, security sources said.

As part of the ongoing evacuation operation, a total of 183 students, including 83 male and 100 female, reached Pakistan through the Taftan on March 1 and 2, 2026.

According to the latest report, the process of arrival of all the people and transfer to Quetta was completed in a phased manner.

As per details, 62 students were sent to Quetta today, including 42 men and 20 women.

On the same day, another 121 students arrived, including 41 men and 80 women. Thus, the process of arrival and transfer of a total of 183 students was completed on March 2.

After reaching Quetta, the process of sending the students to their respective provinces has also been started.

Around 132 students belonging to Punjab, 15 from Sindh, one from Balochistan, 22 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 3 from Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 10 from Gilgit-Baltistan will leave for their respective areas.

These students studying in Iran belong to different medical universities. As per the data, 50 students are from Tehran Medical College, 58 from Asfahan Medical College, 38 from Zanjan Medical College and 37 from Yazd Medical College.

According to the authorities, this phase of evacuation and transfer was completed, under which the safe arrival of students and Pakistani citizens from Iran through Taftan and subsequent transfer to Quetta was ensured.
