ATLANTA (Kashmir English): Morocco were not able to go above Brazil in Group C in terms of goals difference but they are safely into the knockouts after defeating spirited Haiti 4:2 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Morocco finished as runners-up in Group C, advancing to the Round of 32. The African nation progressed to the knockout round with a record of 2 wins, 1 draw, and 0 losses with a total 7 points on their credit. The match was played in Atlanta on Wednesday.
Brazil on the other hand could also secure 7 points in the group stage matches but +6 Goal Differential put them ahead of Morocco in the group.
Morocco officially sits at 7th place in the FIFA Men’s World Rankings. This places them comfortably as the highest-ranked nation in both the African (CAF) and Arab football confederations.
The African champions initially struggled against Haiti, having to come from behind twice to get in at half-time level.
But goals from substitutes Soufiane Rahimi and Gessime Yassine won them the game.

In another Group C match, Brazil beat Scotland 3-0 to win the group.
That makes things pretty difficult for Scotland to progress to the knockouts but it is not impossible.
