LAHORE (Kashmir English): Pakistan’s star batter and former captain Babar Azam has said that his biggest dream is to win World Cup for the Pakistan cricket team, and he is working hard to achieve this goal.
In a special interview given to former English cricketer Kevin Pietersen, Babar Azam discussed in detail the important moments of his career, current goals, and future plans.
He said that representing Pakistan has always been a source of pride for him, but winning a global title for the national team is his long-cherished dream, for which he is continuously striving.
He said that defeating India in the T20 World Cup as captain was a memorable moment in his career. “Achieving a big victory against the traditional rival brought joy not only to him but to the entire nation.”
Babar Azam on his fitness
Talking about his fitness, Babar Azam said that he understands the demands of modern cricket and that is why he is paying special attention to fitness.
He said that fitness plays a fundamental role in the success of any cricketer, and he is continuously working on this aspect so that he could perform at his best for the national team for a long time.
Babar admitted that the Pakistan team has played brilliantly in many major competitions in the last few years, reaching the finals of the T20 World Cup and Asia Cup, but unfortunately, he added, could not win the title.
He said that mistakes happen in cricket, and every player can make a mistake despite the expectation of a better decision at some point, but the real thing is to learn from those mistakes and move forward.
