LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Zakat Department has approved the launch of a Widow Support Card to provide direct financial assistance to widows, marking a major welfare initiative aimed at easing economic hardship.
Officials announced that the Widow Support Card program will start operating this month to provide financial support through zakat funding. The Widow Support Card program provides each eligible widow with financial assistance of Rs100000.
Widows with one dependent child will get an additional Rs25,000, while those supporting two children will receive an extra Rs50,000 through the same card. The support will be provided in a transparent and structured manner to ensure timely access to funds.
