ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): After the war between the US and Iran, there was an extraordinary increase in the prices of petroleum products. During this time, the price of regular petrol in the country exceeded Rs 400 per liter, while the price of high-octane petrol reached Rs 500 to 600 per liter in some places, causing severe economic pressure on the people.

Regular petrol, which is the most widely used in the country, currently costs around Rs 401 per liter, and this price is the same at almost all petrol pumps because it is regulated, meaning companies are obliged not to sell petrol at a price higher than this price.

Discount Offer on Petrol

Attock Petroleum has launched a discount offer and announced a further reduction in the price of petrol at its company-operated petrol pumps. The company is offering a special discount of Rs 5 per liter on petrol pumps that are directly operated by the company.

This discount is available only at specific outlets that are operated by the company, while this facility will not be applicable to petrol pumps operated by dealers. This initiative aims to provide relief to consumers and promote competition in the market.

Attock Petroleum has about 45 petrol pumps across the country where this discount can be availed. These pumps are located in major cities and motorways, and it is written on these pumps that this is a company-operated petrol pump.

On the other hand, high-octane petrol is deregulated, so different oil marketing companies determine its prices at their own discretion, due to which the prices of each company are different.

When the Prime Minister announced a levy of Rs 300 on high octane, the price of high octane per liter had reached Rs 600, which led to a major drop in its sales. First, Aramco announced a significant reduction of Rs 200 per liter in the price of high-octane petrol, after which other companies also followed this trend.

Currently, the prices of high-octane petrol from different companies are different. The price of (V-Power, available at Shell Company petrol pumps) is the lowest at Rs 410 per liter, compared to other companies, the price of PSO’s high-octane is Rs 420, the price of Attock Petroleum’s high-octane is Rs 465, and the price of Aramco’s Pro Force is Rs 467 per liter.
