ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Weather Alert: Widespread rain, windstorms, and hail are expected to hit different parts of Pakistan starting today, Tuesday, and lasting through May 31, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The weather office has warned that strong winds, heavy downpours, and thunderstorms are likely in several areas, including Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).

People have been urged to stay cautious, especially during dust storms and windy conditions, to avoid any mishaps.

In Sindh, both the upper and southeastern parts are also expected to receive rainfall with thunder and lightning. Cities such as Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Shahdadkot, Thar, Mithi, and Islamkot are among those that could see rain.

The PMD has said it is keeping a close watch on the weather and has advised local authorities to stay alert in case conditions worsen.

At that point, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued an alert about this matter.

According to the advisory, these circumstances are expected in all provinces, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, with the exception of Sindh, where hot and dry weather will dominate.
