MIRPUR (Kashmir English): The water level in Mangla Dam has been continuously increasing due to recent rainfall in the region.
According to the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), the current water level has reached 1116 feet, which is 66 feet above its dead level of 1050 feet.
WAPDA officials said that the outflow of water was recorded at 25,000 cusecs, while the inflow of water was recorded at 45,053 cusecs.
Officials said that the recent rains increased the water level, which is expected to improve the availability of agricultural water and power generation.
The maximum water storage limit in Mangla Dam is 1242 feet, and the current level is only 126 feet less than this, while the Meteorological Department has predicted more rains in the coming days, which is likely to increase the water level further.
