JAKARTA (Kashmir English): Indonesia has offered to mediate in the Iran-Israel-America conflict and also announced to quit the Gaza Peace Board if it does not benefit Palestinians.

According to Bloomberg, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is keen to play a diplomatic role in de-escalating tensions in the Middle East.

The newspaper wrote that Muslim-majority countries agree in principle on preventing the spread of war in the region, but Indonesia government’s policy on the Iran crisis is facing criticism domestically.

Indonesian policy on Iran crisis

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is being criticised domestically for the policy adopted on the Iran crisis.

The government is facing criticism for offering condolences late on the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. A major religious organisation in the country has demanded the government review its policy.

In the face of this pressure, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has warned that if Palestinians do not benefit from the peace board established by US President Trump, Indonesia will withdraw from it.

According to state media, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said this during a meeting with more than 160 scholars.

According to the Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council, the President said that Indonesia joined the peace board to advance the interests of Palestine.

If the peace board deviates from the goal of supporting an independent Palestinian state, he is ready to separate Indonesia from it.
