WASHINSTON DC (Kashmir English): The United States has acknowledged the consideration offered by Pakistan to potentially participate in a peace-building and  Gaza stabilisation force, but confirms that no final commitment has been sought or made at this stage.

Speaking at the press conference, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Washington was “very grateful” to Pakistan for its willingness to consider being part of the initiative. He made it clear that the United States still owes several clarifications before asking any country to commit troops formally.

Rubio added that the US is confident a number of nation-states – acceptable to all parties involved in the conflict – are prepared to contribute to the proposed stabilisation force once terms are finalised.

His remarks are in line with the long-held Pakistani stance that any consideration of deployment would depend on categorical assurances regarding the protection of the civilian population in Gaza, well-defined terms of engagement, and an internationally agreed mandate.

Pakistan has always maintained that it would only consider participation in international missions that are lawful, transparent, and centered on the safety and rights of the affected civilians.
