LAHORE (Kashmir English): Experienced top-order batter Umar Amin has officially been added to the Pakistan Champions squad for the upcoming World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025, set to begin on July 18 in England. His inclusion brings additional strength and balance to the batting lineup as Pakistan prepares to launch its campaign against the England Champions at Edgbaston Stadium.

The franchise has unveiled the squad for the second edition, with some notable inclusions and a few surprising omissions.
Umar Amin, known for his solid technique and calm presence at the crease, is among several fresh faces brought into the squad for this edition of the WCL. Other new additions include Sarfaraz Ahmed, Imad Wasim, and Rumman Raees, while seasoned stars like Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, and Wahab Riaz continue to feature.
The team will be captained by Mohammad Hafeez, taking over leadership duties as previous skipper Younis Khan and veteran Misbah-ul-Haq were not included in this year’s squad. The selectors are aiming to create a well-rounded team by combining experience with match-fit talent.
The WCL 2025 will feature six teams – Pakistan, India, Australia, England, South Africa, and West Indies – competing in a round-robin format. Matches will be held at four venues across England: Edgbaston, Grace Road (Leicester), County Ground (Northampton), and Headingley (Leeds). The top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals.
Last year, Pakistan made it to the final but narrowly lost to India. With the addition of Umar Amin, the team hopes to go one step further and bring home the trophy this time.
