BAGH (Kashmir English): Amid heavy rainfall and a flash flood warning issued for Azad Kashmir, the Bagh administration has announced a school holiday.
According to the notification issued, all government and private institutions will remain closed on August 18 and 19 due to the bad weather conditions.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a high flood alert in Azad Kashmir, whereas the persistent rainfall in the nearby areas has caused severe destruction.
Earlier, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Elementary and Secondary Education has issued a notification announcing public holidays on August 15 and 16, 2025.
The notification stated that “Secretary Elementary and Secondary Education has approved the closure of all government and private educational institutions in Azad Kashmir on August 15, 16, 2025.”
The notification added that the holidays have been issued the given threat of flooding and landslides in rivers and drains due to adverse weather conditions.
