RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): In a crackdown against hatred against the Pakistan Army on social media, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Police has arrested the accused in two separate cases.

As per details, Hajira Police arrested the Student Action Committee leader, Arslan Shani, for making baseless and false allegations against the Pakistan Army and sharing fabricated posts and screenshots on social media.

The accused allegedly tried to tarnish the reputation of the institution by spreading fake news and inciting the public, the FIR registered at Hajira Police Station added.

Several other individuals, including Yasif Khan, Hamad Saduzai, Abdul Basit Abbasi, Abdul Sami, and Qadeer journalist, were also mentioned in the FIR for sedition, insult, and spreading hatred against the Pakistan Army.

Another accused, Joint Awami Action Committee leader Raja Ghulam Mujbata, was also arrested by Dhirkot Police for committing sedition and hatred while giving a speech at an Iftar program in Rawalakot on March 29.

The FIR alleges that Mujbati threatened violence, saying, “This is not Balochistan, the bodies are returned from there. Your necks will be cut here, and you will not even find the bodies; you will find the bodies from Mangla Dam.”

The Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) strongly condemned the arrest of Raja Ghulam Mujtaba, calling it unjustified and beyond comprehension.

In a statement, the core committee of the Azad Jammu & Kashmir JAAC criticised the move, asserting that such actions undermine the principles of justice and fair governance.

The committee maintained that Raja Ghulam Mujtaba had not engaged in any unlawful activity and that his detention raises serious concerns about the suppression of dissent.
