SEHNSA (Kashmir English): President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, has emphasized the need for a tripartite solution to the Kashmir issue, involving India, Pakistan, and the Kashmiri people.

He made these remarks while addressing a grand reception at Finance Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Akhlaq’s residence in Sehansa in Kotli district.

Chaudhry stressed that Kashmiris should be brought to the negotiating table to ensure a peaceful and lasting solution, as they are the real and important parties to the Kashmir issue.

He also welcomed US President Donald Trump’s offer of mediation between Pakistan and India, appreciating his recognition of the Kashmir issue as an international dispute.

“Trump’s declaration of the Kashmir issue as an international issue has shattered India’s narrative of declaring the Kashmir issue as an internal issue,” he stated.

President Chaudhry condemned India’s violation of Pakistani borders and its alleged false flag operation in Pahalgam, occupied Kashmir, which has worsened the lives of Kashmiris.

He praised the Pakistan armed forces for their successful response to Indian aggression in Operation Banyanum Marsoos.

Chaudhry urged the international community, particularly the United States, to play a role in resolving the Kashmir issue under UN resolutions, ensuring peace in the region.

He emphasized that the Kashmir dispute is the root cause of tensions between Pakistan and India, both nuclear powers, and that any incident between them could lead to a larger conflict.

On this occasion, Finance Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Akhlaq, Minister for Higher Education Zafar Malik, Presidential Advisor Chaudhry Mehboob Advocate, Mayor Kotli Chaudhry Taj, Member District Council Jamil Chauhan, and others were present.
