LAHORE (Kashmir English): The 3-day Basant festival celebrated in Lahore with kite flying, music, food, and fun has concluded successfully.

Basant spread its splendor throughout the city in 3 days and people of all ages were seen in the colors of this festival.

On the occasion of Basant, children, adults, old and young all came out on the rooftops with kites in their hands. The sky of Lahore was filled with the sounds of kites, slogans of bokata, the beat of drums and joyful celebrations. Feasts were organized at various places and the citizens enjoyed Basant to the fullest.

The Basant time was extended till 5 am for those who were celebrating the last Basant. After the successful festival in Lahore, the Chief Minister of Punjab has indicated that Basant will also be celebrated in other cities of the province.

Earlier, the second day of the Lahore Basant festival is being celebrated with enthusiasm, as foreign citizens were also seen taking great interest in kite flying.

A large number of foreign citizens arrived in the city to fly kites, where they enjoyed the colors of Basant along with the locals. Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari welcomed the foreign guests and termed their participation in the Basant celebrations as welcome.

During the celebrations, foreign guests also flew kites, while Punjab Information Secretary Tahir Raza Hamdani was also keen on flying kites.

Foreign guests said that their dream of celebrating Basant in Lahore has come true. One guest said that he had heard that Lahore was a city of lively hearts, but today he saw it with his own eyes. Other guests described the cultural colors of Lahore as beautiful and charming.
