Students Block Road Amid Irregularities in 9th-Grade Results
In another development, students staged a protest against alleged irregularities in the 9th-grade examination results, claiming that marks awarded to several candidates did not reflect their academic performance and merit.
The protesting students chanted slogans and blocked the city’s main road, bringing traffic to a standstill. They alleged negligence in the compilation of results, claiming that hardworking students had received unexpectedly low marks, putting their academic futures at risk.
The students demanded transparent rechecking of examination papers and correction of results on merit, saying their protest would continue until their grievances were addressed.
The road blockade resulted in long queues of vehicles on both sides, causing significant inconvenience to commuters. Administrative and police officials reached the site and held talks with the protesters.
The students were assured that their concerns would be conveyed to higher authorities for an early resolution, following which efforts were launched to restore traffic flow.
