ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Poultry Association has announced a special subsidy on chicken and egg prices, at the Punjab government’s instructions, to provide relief to the public during the holy month of Ramazan.
The special thing about this relief package is that all the funds for the subsidy will be borne by the Pakistan Poultry Association itself. Maintaining the supply chain and other market matters will be monitored by representatives of poultry traders.
Chicken and Egg Prices
The supply of cheap chicken and eggs will start in the Ramazan markets. The following concessions will be provided to the public through appointed dealers in all convenience markets, special subsidy of Rs. 15 per kg on chicken meat, and a special discount of Rs. 10 per dozen on eggs.
Vice Chairman of Pakistan Poultry Association Malik Muhammad Sharif, Chaudhry Fargham Toor, and Rai Mansab Ali Khan visited the convenience markets along with Tariq Javed, leader of the Poultry Traders Association. In the presence of the leaders, special counters have started functioning regularly, from where citizens will be able to shop at discounted rates.
The leaders say that providing affordable protein to the public in difficult economic conditions is their top priority, and this will continue during Ramadan.
