India secured a spot in the semi-finals with a key win over the West Indies in Kolkata.
Despite a final-game win over Sri Lanka, Pakistan was knocked out of the tournament due to a lower net run rate than New Zealand, ending a rollercoaster campaign.

Defending champions India secured their spot after beating the West Indies. They face Harry Brook’s England, who made history by reaching their fifth consecutive T20 World Cup semi-final.
Pakistan’s exit
Despite a last-ball win against Sri Lanka, Pakistan was knocked out due to an inferior NRR compared to New Zealand. Following their exit, the Men in Green may face fines for failing to reach the last four.
Zimbabwe’s rise
Zimbabwe were superb throughout their campaign until the Super Eight stage. They topped Group B unbeaten after defeating even Australia and Sri Lanka, though they couldn’t make it to the semis.
Final of the T20 World Cup 2026 tournament will be played on March 8 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
