JHELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): Massive protests and a total shutdown were witnessed in Jhelum Valley in support of Palestine, where thousands protested against Israeli brutality.
Markets in Hattian Bala, Chinari, Chakar, Leepa Valley, and Chakothi were closed in protest. Demonstrators came onto the streets, showing their support for Palestinians and condemning Israeli moves.
Israeli goods were hurled on the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad Road and burned, symbolizing the stiff opposition of the local population towards Israel’s behavior with Palestinians.
This show of solidarity for Palestine in Jhelum Valley is an indication of the international reaction to the conflict, with demonstrations and protests being staged across the world.
Addressing the protests, the speakers said that what is happening in Palestine is genocide, the murder of humanity, and there is hardly any other example of such barbarity in history.
The speakers warned the Muslim rulers in strong words that if the Muslim Ummah does not unite now, then this silence will become a curse for them on the Day of Judgment.
They expressed regret over the hypocritical silence of the world powers and said that if the world is truly a champion of human rights, then why has it remained silent on the innocent blood flowing in Palestine?
The Kashmiri people reiterated their pledge that they will not only continue to provide moral and political support to the Palestinian people but will also fight their case at every forum.
The participants of the rallies carried banners, placards, Azad Kashmir and Palestinian flags, on which slogans against Israeli aggression were inscribed. Spiritual prayer gatherings were also held, where innocent children, youth, and elders prayed for the oppressed Palestinians with tearful eyes.
At a demonstration held in Hattian Bala, speakers demanded that the administration provide a time frame for removing Israeli products from markets across the district, otherwise, the public will remove Israeli products from the markets and destroy them.
The atmosphere of Jhelum Valley echoed with slogans like “Down with Israel, Support America, Support tyranny, Long live Palestine”.
In the district headquarters Hattian Bala, former chairman of Mirpur Education Board Azad Kashmir, Professor Qazi Ibrahim Chishti, Syed Fayyaz Kazmi, Syed Faisal Gilani, Syed Ehsanul Hassan Gilani, Liaquat Ali Awan, Asif Mughal, Sajawal Khan, Sheikh Mumtaz, Mumtaz Awan, Taimur Baig, Nazid Qureshi, Ghazanfar Qadri, in Chinari, Professor Mir Khalid Latif, Maulana Farid Ahmed, Maulana Maqsood Kiani attended the protest.
Other participants included Maulana Jamil Jami, Maulana Mukhtar Kiani, Maulana Adil Khurshid, Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed, Raja Shahzad Gul, Khawaja Asim Bashir, Syed Noorul Hassan Kazmi, Syed Imran Hamdani, in Chakothi, Shabbir Abbasi, Raja Qasid, in Chakar, Arif Dar, member of the District Council Raja Pervez Iqbal Advocate, Munib Chakarvi, Malik Bashir Administrator thousands of people from all areas of life, including children, elders, youth, and students, participated in the protest rallies.
