CHIKKAR VALLEY (Kashmir English): A large and peaceful solidarity rally in Chikkar was organised by the Chikkar Transport Union on the occasion of Youm-e-Tashakur (Thanksgiving Day), where transport workers, community leaders, and citizens came together to express unity with the Pakistan Armed Forces.
The rally in Chikkar started at Union Council Salmia, going through Sudhan Gali before ending at the central square of Chikkar Bazaar. The public carried signs and banners emblazoned with patriotic messages, emphasizing unity and a desire for peace and advancement.
Throughout the rally, people from the community gave speeches highlighting how the Pakistan Army is devoted to the nation. Among the main speeches were those given by Union President Raja Mohsin Shabbir and Raja Zafar-ul-Haq.
They said that the army is the guardian of Pakistan’s ideological and geographical frontiers, and the nation takes great pride in its armed forces.
They further noted that the purpose of observing Youm-e-Tashakur was to show appreciation and solidarity with the institutions that work tirelessly for the country’s survival and stability.
The speakers emphasised that such events reflect the deep connection between the public and the institutions that protect them. Highlighting the importance of unity and public service, the speakers also applauded the consistent role of the transport sector.
They said transport workers stand with the nation in every situation, demonstrating their loyalty not only through words but through action as well.
In Chikkar, the rally wrapped up peacefully as everyone showed their hope for a bright future of the country. The event concluded with people cheering for the Pakistani Forces and showing their strong patriotism and willingness to help improve national unity.
