MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The district administration has launched an anti-encroachment operation in Muzaffarabad, sealing several shops and seizing vehicles as part of efforts to clear public roads and improve traffic flow.

The operation was carried out on the instructions of the Commissioner Muzaffarabad Division and the Deputy Commissioner Muzaffarabad, following the formation of a special committee to address encroachments and traffic congestion in the city.

Assistant Commissioner City Hammad Bashir, Assistant Commissioner Rural Amir Ejaz Abbasi, DSP Traffic, and the City Traffic Inspector visited different areas to inspect violations and review the traffic situation.

During the operation, action was taken against shopkeepers and others found obstructing roads and public passages through alleged illegal encroachments. Several shops were sealed, while various vehicles were seized.

The special committee will work to remove encroachments from roads and footpaths, improve traffic movement and reduce travel difficulties faced by residents.

The district administration said such operations would continue to maintain order, ensure smooth traffic flow and keep public roads accessible.

The administration has urged traders and citizens to cooperate with officials and refrain from encroaching on government roads, footpaths and other public spaces.
