Security forces neutralizes eight militants in joint operation: ISPR

BANNU (Kashmir English): A joint operation conducted by the Pakistan Army and Bannu Police near Kashu Checkpost resulted in the killing of eight militants, while two others were injured, according to ISPR.

The militants opened fire on a CTD and police patrol near Hilal Chowk, Domail area.

Security forces quickly surrounded the suspects inside a compound. A heavy exchange of fire took place as security forces carried out a clearance operation, according to a statement from ISPR.

Six bodies were recovered from the compound during the operation. Meanwhile, Bannu police engaged another group of militants attempting to approach the area, killing one of the terrorists.

Two militants attempted to flee the spot; however, one was shot dead and the other was injured during the chase.

Intelligence support was provided through surveillance assets and coordination between security agencies. One soldier sustained injuries in the operation and was shifted to CMH Bannu for treatment.

A sanitization operation was conducted after the operation, and the dead bodies were handed over to the authorities
