QUETTA (Kashmir English): Security forces in Balochistan have foiled a suicide attack plot through an intelligence-based operation and arrested two girls, identified as Zainab and Fatima, recruited and trained by the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).
Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Lango addressed a press conference alongside the two girls and said that the girls had been recruited and trained by the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).
The provincial home minister said the purpose of the press conference was to highlight what he described as the “nefarious character” of Fitna-ul-Hindustan.
He said questions are often raised about the performance of security forces whenever a terrorist incident occurs, whereas, according to him, security agencies prevent several planned attacks before they can take place.
Lango added that militant elements in Balochistan were attempting to recruit young girls for suicide attacks.
According to the minister, 16-year-old Zainab was targeted for recruitment after her husband, identified as Saif, was killed along with several other family members after refusing to cooperate with the militant organization.
He said that following Saif’s killing, a local commander continued contacting Zainab and attempted to persuade her to join the organization and seek revenge.
