ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Islamabad district administration on Monday imposed Section 144 across the federal capital, placing a temporary ban on all forms of public gatherings, rallies, and protests in Islamabad.
According to the notification, no protest, demonstration, or gathering is permitted while the order remains in effect. The district administration warned that the law will be enforced immediately in case of any violation.
“If any illegal activity is carried out, action will be taken without delay,” the notification said.
Citizens have been told not to participate in any unlawful gatherings or activities, with authorities emphasizing that cooperation is essential to ensure peace and security in the capital. The administration has not specified how long the restrictions will remain in place.
The order came after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced a protest rally in Islamabad over the failure to meet the founding chairman of PTI, Imran Khan
The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, said the protest will start from Swabi, proceed to the Islamabad High Court, and later move towards Adiala Jail.
