NEELUM VALLEY (Kashmir English): The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) Muzaffarabad team, along with other institutions, has launched a search operation to recover the dead body of a young man.
The man identified as Mudasir Siddique was swept away while bathing in the Neelum River at Sharda Kharigam yesterday.
On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner/Chairman DDMA Neelum, Assistant Commissioner Sharda is personally supervising this recovery operation. Local people have been busy in the recovery operation since yesterday’s accident.
Director General SDMA and Deputy Commissioner Neelum have expressed sympathy with the affected family and requested the people of the area to prevent their children from going near the river.
Earlier, the police, the local rescue unit, Boating Club Sharda, local people/local volunteers, and the Pakistan Army participated in the recovery operation but failed to discover Mudasir’s dead body.
