HARARE (Kashmir English): Pakistan U19 cricket team’s opening batter Sameer Minhas broke the world record for the fastest century in U19 cricket.

Pakistan U19’s emerging opener Sameer Minhas made history in youth ODI cricket on Tuesday, breaking the record for the fastest century held by Indian player Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

Sameer Minhas achieved this feat in the final of the ODI tri-series between Pakistan U19 and hosts Zimbabwe in Harare.

Sameer Minhas completed a lightning-fast century in just 42 balls. This became the fastest century in the history of youth ODIs.

Century off 52 balls

Previously, this record was held by India’s Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who scored a century off 52 balls against England last July.

Sameer Minhas continued his brilliant batting in the final against Zimbabwe, playing a fiery innings of 114 runs off 51 balls, which included 17 fours and 5 sixes.

Thanks to Sameer’s aggressive batting, Pakistan easily chased down Zimbabwe U19’s target of 159 runs with the loss of just one wicket and won the ODI tri-series.
