ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Reports circulating on social media regarding a change in the position of Director General Counterintelligence (C) of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) have been declared fake and false.
Security sources have alleged that baseless and misleading propaganda is being spread on social media regarding a new appointment to the post of DG (C) ISI.
A user on X, Moshin Raza Khan, posted that Major General Atif Bin Akram was appointed as Director General of ISI.

However, sources said that no such new appointment has been made to the post of DG (C) ISI, and reports suggesting otherwise are misleading.
The office of the DG (C) heads the agency’s Internal Wing, which deals with domestic security and other matters.
The government earlier today issued the notification of the appointment of DG (C) ISI Major General Faisal Naseer as National Coordinator of the National Counter-Terrorism Authority (NACTA) on a secondment basis.
The Establishment Division also issued a notification in this regard with immediate effect.
“Maj Gen. Faisal Naseer is appointed as National Coordinator, NACTA, in terms of Section 9(1) of the NACTA Act, 2013, on a secondment basis.”
He is appointed for “the period of three years, on standard terms and conditions, as contained in JSI-4/85, with immediate effect and until further orders”.
Maj Gen Faisal Naseer is an experienced officer with extensive experience in counter-terrorism operations, and his appointment is of exceptional importance in the context of the ongoing counter-terrorism operations in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
