ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Qatari Princess Asma Al Thani, a member of the royal family, on Sunday scaled the 8,126-meter Nanga Parbat, becoming the first Qatari woman to scale one of Pakistan’s tallest mountains.
As per details, Sheikha Asma hoisted the national flag on Nanga Parbat despite adverse weather conditions, including heavy snowfall, blizzards, and other difficulties.
Taking to Instagram, she wrote, “Alhamdolillah, Nanga Parbat. My ninth 8000er and one of the toughest climbs I’ve faced.”
“This mountain tested me in ways I didn’t expect, from black ice beneath my feet to rockfall every few seconds. A constant reminder of how fragile life truly is,” she wrote. “This mountain will stay with me forever.”
“I’m proud to have shared this climb with a team that truly understands what it means to move through the mountains with intention,” she said in another post.
Naga Parbat, also known as the “Killer Mountain”, is the ninth-highest mountain on Earth. The recent summit is the ninth 8000er climb in her campaign to scale the 14 highest peaks.
