LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Punjab government, in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), has launched the Chief Minister IT Internship Programme, offering paid internships to 2,000 recent IT and Computer Science graduates.
Under the programme, selected graduates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs50,000 for a four- to five-month internship.
The Punjab government said the initiative aims to provide young graduates with practical, industry-relevant experience, improve their digital skills and create better employment opportunities in the technology sector.
Applicants with at least 16 years of education in IT or related fields are eligible to apply. Eligible disciplines include Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Graphic Design and Information Systems.
Candidates must have completed their degree within the last four years and be unemployed at the time of application. Men, women and transgender individuals holding a Punjab domicile can apply.
Applicants are required to submit their CNIC or Form-B, Punjab domicile, educational certificates or degree, recent photograph and updated CV. Experience certificates may also be submitted, if available.
Participating IT companies will receive Rs12,500 per intern per month in financial assistance to facilitate practical training and project-based work.
The selection process will include profile creation, an aptitude test, HEC degree verification and an interview. Selected candidates will also receive an internationally recognised IT certification along with the internship opportunity.
