LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Punjab government has launched the Green E-Taxi Scheme 2025, a youth-oriented scheme that provides electric and hybrid taxis on easy installments.
The initiative aims to provide a regular income source for drivers along with friendly environmental transport throughout the province.
Officials add that the programme will especially help out-of-work and self-employed youth through subsidized ownership of EVs and hybrid taxis.
With less fuel expense and affordable repayment schemes, the programme is presented as a viable means of earning day-to-day income.
Eligibility Criteria:
People applying must be citizens of Pakistan (Punjab domicile preferable), between 21 and 45 years of age, and possessing a valid CNIC and driving licence.
Low- to middle-class fragments are invited to apply, people with a criminal background, upper age limit, nd high class are not eligible for the scheme.
Documents Required:
CNIC, a valid driving license, a passport-size photograph, a domicile or utility bill for address proof, and bank account information.
Applicants for a small fleet may also have to submit NTN or business details.
How to Apply:
The online registration portal (https://greentaxischeme.pk/) will lead the applicants through a step-by-step application process.
Applicants will enroll with their CNIC and phone number, authenticate through OTP, and enter their details, desired city of operation, and electric or hybrid taxi choice.
After uploading documents and their verification, successful applicants will finalize bank documents and take the delivery schedule.
The Punjab government has also appealed to interested candidates not to wait and apply, as the deadline for the Green E-Taxi Scheme 2025 will be made public through the official portal.
Earlier, the Punjab Government introduced 30,000 new scholarships under the Chief Minister’s Honhaar Undergraduate Scholarship Program 2025, providing merit-based financial support to deserving students seeking undergraduate degrees.
Applicants who meet the criteria can apply by visiting the official Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) website and completing the online application form.
